What color Heart are you?

Okay, it's "Wacky Wednesday" and Emmie has once again outdone herself with her great "quiz". So in the spirit of "Wacky Wednesday" and not wanting to be a poor sport, I have participated, and found out what color heart I am (hmmmm guess it's kinda true, but for that part about not being passionate about just one person, hehehe it sure makes me sound easy).

Your Heart Is Red

You're a passionate lover - you always have a huge fire in your heart.
Too bad it's hard for you to be passionate about just one person!

Your flirting style: Outgoing and sexy

Your lucky first date: Drinks and dancing

Your dream lover: Is both stable and intense

What you bring to relationships: Honesty

So join in the fun and jump in and play, you'll be pleasantly surprised at what color heart you are!!!

Another room completed...

While on this really really really long wait for our daughter, we are in the process of "fixing" up each and every room in our house. And by "fixing" it up, I mean, painting the walls and "re-tiling" the floors (we don't have any carpet in our house, it's all that "stick down" type of tiles).

So far we have completed my bathroom (hence why the fan cover was/is off) in those "beautiful" colors (can we say ummmmm Pepto-Bismol? so soothing), Chynna's room (now that really did turn out great, we really love her light lilac colored walls, the pink and white ceiling fan, the really sweet fairies on the wall, we are proud of that room), our bedroom (again turned out really great), and now the computer room. We really love the computer room, the light blue walls with the soft pink trim really calms the room, and then the tile.... all I can say is check out this tile:

That is one square, isn't it cool??? It really brightens up the room, makes it look much larger than what it actually is, and it brings in all the pretty colors in the room. We are quite proud of this "find". Guess we are getting better at this "fixing" up thing.

Now we only have...the hallway, the main bathroom, the living room, the dining room, the eat-in dining area, and the kitchen left. Wow, and here I thought we were getting close to being done. Oh well, guess it'll help pass this really really really long wait.

Feeling easily gullible....

Okay, I admit it, sometimes I fall for the silliest things. I can't help it. People either sound so sincere and say things with such a straight face that I fall for it.

However, I have no excuse when it comes to emails. I should know better but sometimes....okay here's what happened, my mom forwarded me this email from one of her friends (he's quite a funny guy so that should'da given me a clue, but nooooo), and it's one of those "think of a letter between...." and then "think of an animal...." and then "think of a person.....", so here I am participating, doing what it says thinking "wow, I wonder if I'm doing it right" and "hopefully this will turn out like it's supposed to" (I know, geeky, but I can't help it, I'm telling you, I'm gullible) and I get towards the bottom, and I about fall out of my chair laughing because it's one of those "now hit yourself in the head and quit playing on this computer and get back to work" type of emails. Boy do I feel silly!!!

So what do I do??? Of course what any wonderful wife would do!! I call Ray down the hall to the computer room to take this "test", explaining how completely wonderful it is, and how he'll be soooo surprised. Guess I did a good job hyping it up, cuz my wonderful hubby took this "test" too, and was so into it, he didn't get it either until it literally told him to hit himself in the head with his hand that he is looking at. This of course sent me into total hysterics (I know I'm sick too).

And then of course I had to share with some of my friends, some of which have admitted they're gullible, some which haven't, isn't sharing great??

How babies are delivered...

GRAPHIC PHOTO! How Babies are Delivered.

This is a really helpful photo for any of you who have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, or godchildren. actually, for anyone who spends even a little time with young children

Eventually, you'll have to face the "where do babies come from?" issue, and this picture is definitely worth a thousand words.

But prepare yourself -- it's pretty explicit!

You might want to look at it privately before sharing it with the children in your life.

This is definitely a must see....

I accept Connie's challenge (and thus challenge you!)

Upon lurking on Connie's blog (okay I am a regular lurker there, but she just cracks me up), I decided to accept Connie's challenge and post something weird.

So I thought and thought, and looked and looked, all around and not noticing anything "weird", I mean I find nothing strange at all about the way that EVERYWHERE you look in my house you are bound to see a frog somewhere...

in the bathroom...

in the eat-in informal dining room area...

in the living room...

there's just nothing "weird" there, so I continued to look around, and I think I may have found it, in my bathroom (which is painted a pink that looked really good I must add when we looked at the samples, but ummm not so good on the walls, but since I begged and pleaded with Ray to paint the bathroom pink I had to "love" the Pepto Bismol pink color it turned out, which again is not the weirdness going on in the house, hehehe), here it is in all its glory.....

Why is the cover off the bathroom fan you ask??? Well this is the same question I ask myself, and every time I see it, I think, I need to go get my ladder and put the cover back on, and then I get distracted with feeding Freckles, and then letting him out to "potty", and then giving him a treat, and then I realize I am thirsty so I get a drink, and then Ray asks me a question, then I guess I forgot what I went down the hall for and then I end up checking blogs and so on and so forth (I guess I'm easily distracted, hehe), but now that I have admitted this long overdue oversight to you all, I will go get that ladder and put the cover back on, right after I post this entry, and once again let Freckles outside, and......

Dog/Cat Personality

In order to play along with Emmie, I have taken the Dog/Cat Personality Quiz (and I'm not surprised with the results)...

You Are: 60% Dog, 40% Cat

You are a nice blend of cat and dog.
You're playful but not too needy. And you're friendly but careful.
And while you have your moody moments, you're too happy to stay upset for long.

P.S. BTW, Connie, I went to Pet Supermarket today, and they really have those pet strollers (for those you unsure of what I'm talking about check this blog entry out, crazy is all I can say, and there was a woman there inquiring about it).

The Titantic, so many things that went wrong...

Flipping through the television channels (all 150 of them we have and "nothing's on"), I came across the 1997 version of the Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio and had to stop to watch for a while (I just couldn't help myself), and I found myself "yelling" at the television screen like a madwoman ("I'll never let go. I'll never let go, Jack!" and "Music to drown by. Now I know I'm in first class") and feeling awful for those that didn't make it on the lifeboats, and thinking about how I don't know many people (okay don't think I know anyone really) who would continue to "entertain others" all the while knowing the boat was going down into the extremely freezing waters (now that is job loyalty).

Then I remember Angry Alien (I just love that site), and I can't help but giggle at the 30 second rendition of Titanic (I've posted a You Tube posting of this cutsie movie for your enjoyment).

Then I got to watching some of the others of my favorite Angry Alien 30 second movies, and my absolute favorite one is... (okay I'll give you some hints "I want an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!" or "you'll shoot your eye out")

.

These are the best, and truly entertainment for all!

What kind of sandal are you?

With many thanks toEmmie for this meme, I decided to join in her Wacky Wednesday craziness....

You are Flat Sandals

Casual yet flirty
You look great in a simple top and jeans
Your look is approchable and cute!

Potty Humor (I could not help but laugh)

This could happen to you too...

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
"Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
"Doin' just fine!"

And the other person says:
"So what are you up to?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
"Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"...

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them ,
"No...I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then I hear the person say nervously"Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!

Ladybug sighting to help lift me from the blahs

Today, when I was on my way back from lunch, in the window of my car flew a ladybug and it landed on my right hand sleeve. It was a strange looking ladybug, but nonetheless a ladybug, it was black with red spots!! And it stayed on my sleeve until I got back to the office and then it flew away. And it brought with it a sense of peace, in my really dreary day, the day where I didn't feel the urge to get out of bed but "had" to go to work, I wonder what wonderful message that ladybug was delivering to me, guess I'll have to wait to find out, but it did bring a smile to my face (even if it was only temporary)....

What kind of food are you?? (This was too funny and ironic)

You Are Chinese Food

Exotic yet ordinary.
People think they've had enough of you, but they're back for more in an hour.

Happy birthday Yummy!!

Yup today is my honey's birthday, and "yummy" is my nickname for him (I don't know how I started that one, but it seems to have stuck and so lovingly I call him my "yummy").

We've got loads of "fun" planned for today too, he's getting up early to golf with my dad and cousin with tee off time at 6:30 a.m. (and on his day off work, to get up that early to chase a little white ball just to hit it again, I really don't
understand that silly "game" but hey they enjoy it) while I enjoy having the whole bed to myself (hehe).

Then later that evening it's off to my parents to have cake (a really yummy cake
from this bakery that is just outstanding, makes my mouth water just thinking about it, mmmmmmm) with my parents, my sister and her family (my brother in law and nephew Adam), my aunt, maybe my brother (I hope so, I miss him, Jimmy try to make it please), and my cousin.

Can't wait, it should be a ball. So please join in and wish my "yummy" Ray a happy birthday with many more (hopefully to be shared with our daughter Chynna).

Tag I'm it (thanks Jade Road), who's next???

One of my good blog buddies Jade Road has tagged me with a Book meme:

These are the instructions:
1) Find the nearest book (please try to keep it PG rated)
2) Open to page 123
3) Type lines 6-8 of said book
4) Tag three others

Regarding #1: Okay the book closest to me is "Metro Girl" by Janet Evanovich. I really love her books, they seem to be "easy" reading for me, you know the kind you can't put down til you've finished it.

Regarding #2: Book is now open to page 123.

Regarding #3: Page 123, lines 6-8 say:

"Hooker smiled at me. Either he was a very forgiving kind of guy, or else I looked really sexy in my pink hat. I threw the rest of the lines onto the boat and climbed on..." (sorry gals, but the line does end here, guess it may not sound too PG rated, now that I think about it, hehe)

Regarding #4: Ok, now onto tagging three others: I tag Dawn, Gina, and Steffie.

Good luck gals!!!

Thank you Cyber Pal (GWCA July/August group)

I received in the mail my GWCA July/August Yahoo group cyber pal gift today (I love getting presents).

The theme is Chinese New Year, and my cyber pal Laurie sent this great book for Chynna, "My First Chinese New Year" and I can't wait to read it to her. It can be part of our CNY tradition, reading it each year.

Thank you Laurie, I love it!!!

Strange happenings...

Okay, today has been quite weird for many reasons.

First, a story at how "crazy" I was today. I'm sitting in my office working away and I hear this high pitched whistling type noise. I ask my boss when he comes in my office if he hears it too, and he does (good thing I was worried I was hearing things that others couldn't and that can't be good), but can't determine where it is coming from and it is that type of noise that doesn't bother him, so he goes back to his office and goes back to work. This noise is just tormenting me and I can't stand it. I get up trying to follow the noise, and it would stop and then start again. Finally I determine the noise is coming from our lobby area, and I convince myself it is the alarm panel making the annoying sounds.

So I call the alarm company and the conversation goes something like this:

Me:

We have this annoying high pitched sound that I have determined is coming from the lobby area near our control panel, can you send a tech out to fix it immediately.

Dispatcher:

First we need to run some tests. Please tell me what codes are showing on the control panel.

Me:

There are no codes showing, it just says "ready". This alarm really has a problem and you need to send someone to fix it.

Dispatcher:

That's not right, if it is the alarm, then a code would come up. Okay try turning it off by imputing your "pass code" and then hitting the off button.

Me:

That didn't work, it's still making the noise and it is getting louder I think, like it's laughing at me or something. Can you send someone to fix this alarm please??

Dispatcher:

It must not be the alarm, it must be something else in your office making this noise.

Me (annoyed):

I just know it's the alarm, can't you send someone to take a look at it PLEASE.

Here I'll hold the phone to the noise so you can hear it.....

Okay this is when I try to hold the phone down where the noise is emanating from, I just want this guy to get as annoyed with the noise as I was. . .

Me:

Oops, problem fixed, sorry for wasting your time.

Dispatcher:

What happened???

Me:

It stopped, thanks for your assistance.

-----------------

Okay it was at this point I realized this guy was right, it wasn't the alarm, and I was so embarrassed for insisting to this guy (like he had no idea how to do his job) that it was the alarm, that I couldn't tell him he was right (is that so wrong???).

I found out it was the battery backup system for our backup computer, and the battery was quite low and it puts off this annoying sound so you will replace the battery, which I immediately took care of, problem solved.

Then tonite I come home and another strange thing happens, kinda like groundhog day.

I checked the mail which Ray brought in when he got home and do you know what I got in the mail AGAIN today. Another Brown Envelope. I guess this means the American Consulate really wants Ray and I to adopt Chynna. Everything was exactly the same, even down to the postmark on the envelope. Just to make sure it wasn't a dream that I already received one, I took the one we received Saturday out of his file and compared it to the one received today. Nope it wasn't a dream, I did get it, TWICE.

I wonder if it is a sign????

6 months!!

Okay today is another day of celebration, it is our 6th month LID-versary!!!

Okay we may only be 1/3 of the way there but hey it's something isn't it???

And another wonderful thing happened today too, my caterpillar spit up my missing ladybug at the top of the page, isn't she beautiful???

Great things are happening all over, now if only one other great thing happens life would be good (we're rooting for you CCAA, just know we are on your side and ready and willing to help in the review room and/or matching room if necessary, just call on us and we'll help out!!!)

Day of Fun Surprises (non-Gators be warned, hehe)

Okay, today was a well needed uplifting day. One I guess I really really needed, with the feeling of the blues rapidly approaching, and work just getting overwhelming, and well, a sense of being out of control all around.

But today made things all better, it really uplifted my spirits.

It started out with my mom and I getting our nails done and I just couldn't help myself, yup Orange and Blue fingernails (aren't they the best???)

Then we went food shopping (not that wonderful, but okay), but when we got home, WOW OH WOW, if only Ray knew what he retrieved from our mailbox.....the long awaited.....

BROWN ENVELOPE!!!!! Boy oh boy, it makes it so real now, we have been recognized by the American Consulate in China. What a great feeling, and you know the funny thing....my mom read the envelope and said "what is the foreign service???", and I said "I don't know probably junk mail" (lucky I didn't throw it away, that would really suck) and then mom realized what she read and said "oh my goodness it's here, the BROWN ENVELOPE". We looked and the envelope was post marked Jan 10, 2007 and the letter inside was dated June 2006. Where oh where has this been??? Sitting on someone's desk to be mailed or maybe just lost somewhere, but not anymore, it is now here telling us we will be parents someday...okay maybe it doesn't exactly say that but to me it does, cuz it recognizes we have petitioned for a child from China and we've been approved by the U.S. to do so. It's great (not only to be a Florida Gator, in this case).

And my day of surprises didn't stop there either....I got a belated Christmas present from one of my best friends (Michael I do love it, how cool!!!). Michael sent away for this present for me and was greatly disappointed when he found out it was on back order but it came, a really cool red purse (I always say better late than never). And the funny thing,,,it being red, thus again reminding me of China (and my baby Chynna).
Okay maybe that wasn't a "ha-ha" kind of funny, but it did make me giggle (guess it's the mood switch from funk to happy).

All in all a great day!!!

I have a smarty nephew!!! Yeah Adam!!!

I got a terrific phone call from my sister today, she tells me that report cards came out today,,,and then told me how TERRIFIC my nephew did, all O's (which I understand is "outstanding") but for one "S" ("satisfactory") for his handwriting.

Way to go Adam!!!!

Some funnies to go with those New Year's Resolutions some people made

Okay I'm not one of these people, but you know the ones, the ones who say on New Year's Eve that their resolution is to lose (you fill in the blank here) pounds, and religiously exercise those first few days, and begin eating healthier to accomplish this goal. Well here are some funnies to go along with this type of thinking:

IT IS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!! NATIONAL CHAMPS

Wow, what a game and a half!!

In case you can't tell by the title, Florida CHOMPED and obliterated those NUTTY BUCKEYES, 41-14.

Then I found this actual news headline: "Ohio State Of Shock: Florida Wins Title" (isn't that the best???)

This really was the best game I have seen Florida play, and I am so proud!!

So now all I can say is: CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP, IT'S GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!!!

New addition in Chynna's room

Okay I just had to have this for Chynna's room, I couldn't help it, her room was being overtaken by all the wonderful books she has received, isn't it darling?

It was quite funny with Ray and I putting it together. He is amazing, he doesn't even need the directions and we only had "one extra piece, you know they come with extra pieces". Guess he's right cuz it stays together a-okay.

What do you think??? (Can you find the frogs??)

Construction in progress

Okay here's a warning to all wondering what in the world is going on with the look of my blog...I am in the process of "jazzing" it up or adding "snazziness" (is that a word???) with the wonderful help of my bloggy pal Gina (she is so patient with me, and really going above and beyond the call of bloggy friendship, isn't she great???).

So please bear with me during this construction period,,,and remember "speeding fines are doubled when workers are present".

9/29 date didn't make the cut, sorry =(

Okay, I guess somebody's agency is "gonna have lots of 'splaining to do" because the CCAA has updated its site, and it doesn't go through 9/29 like was "informally confirmed" on the yahoo groups, as earlier reported to my bloggy family.

However there are quite a few cuties who did receive their referrals today, and a big shout out of congrats are in order for those families. Hope their TA's come rapidly and they get to meet their cuties before Chinese New Year (wouldn't that just be the coolest???).

Our agency reported that the "stork landed" earlier today, but it didn't seem like this was a big batch for our agency, it was only one day of referrals, and the group numbers did not go as high as they normally do (hope this is not a bad sign of things to come), so that really sent me spiralling downward into "funk land".

Slowly but surely I have clawed my way out today (after looking at all the cute faces of those babies referred), and I am focusing on the positive. There were quite a few days included in this batch, and we are ALMOST totally out of September 2005. Our time will come, our time will come, our time will come (it's gotta be true if you say it three times right???).

Back to work today (and Referrals may roll in today)

Today I have to drag myself into work and get back into the routine of getting up early, driving an hour or so into work, working a full 8+ hours, and so on.

These really short weeks have spoiled me so much, that it is gonna be difficult to get back in the routine, but hey the bills have gotta get paid somehow, so I guess I gotta do it (darn it, for not winning the Fla. lottery yet, hehe).

Then I saw on two of my Yahoo groups (APC and LCC) this morning that referrals are coming, and it appears referrals may go through 9/29/05!!! Of course nothing has been confirmed yet, but they did say their agency confirmed it with them. That would be great cuz it would show some movement, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Now if only the CCAA would update us on the review room,
things would be peachy!!

Where did my ladybug go??

Where oh where did my ladybug go, oh where of where can she be?

With her tail not seen, nor her ears anywhere, oh where oh where can she be???

(I wonder if the centipede hid her. Do you know where she is????)

Blogger Migraine

I seem to have started the new year off with craziness on Blogger.

I went to remove the little thingies at the top of my blog (the New Year drinking glasses and the snowball fighting snowmen) and Blogger (without asking me) just goes and updates my Blog to the "new and improved Blogger". I lose all my little thingies I've accumulated such as my Neocounter, my Moon Phases, my Weather Pixie, my Fortune Cookie, etc. Just poof, gone, just like that. Eaten by the big bad wolf.

I look and look trying to remember what all I had on my blog and think I found most thingies back again, and then I notice this "classic template" option and figure "what the heck" and hit it, and lo and behold, the big bad wolf coughs it all back up again (of course after about an hour of my going to websites, cutting and pasting into the template), so now I think everything is back up and looking spiffy yet again.
I guess the $1M question is "For how long???"
