Our Secret Pal Strikes Again.....

Once again, our secret pal didn't disappoint, sending such wonderful gifts for our sweet Chynna...

This month's theme, It's All about the Do....

Here's our gifts wrapped so beautifully in red tissue paper:

in the first package a customized butterfly with Chynna's name on it to hang on the wall to attach Chynna's hair bows to, so they don't get misplaced (or at least that is the idea, hehe):

next, an assortment of hair bows including one handmade by the same "company" that made the butterfly, with frogs on it (my Secret Pal knows what I like, hehe):

an "I care about children" stretchable bracelet for Chynna:

and some stylish Dora the Explorer sunglasses:

Now if we could only get our baby girl in our arms so we can make her more stylish with these great accessories...

Thank you Secret Pal!!

Wacky Wed...what flavor shake are you?

You Are a Strawberry Shake

You are a truly sweet person... but not too sweet.

You're a little too sassy and funky to be considered a sweetheart.

You love to flirt and tease. And people love the attention you give them.

You are a true extrovert, and you make new friends easily.

A very happy unbirthday to me

I had a wonderful birthday today, and my brother wanted to sing this song to me, and it made me laugh, so in honor of my brother's's a very happy unbirthday to all of you...

Some funnies to tickle you

Kids Are Quick

TEACHER: Maria, go to the map and find North America
MARIA: Here it is.
TEACHER: Correct. Now class, who discovered America ?
CLASS: Maria.

TEACHER: John, why are you doing your math multiplication on the floor?
JOHN: You told me to do it without using tables.
TEACHER: Glenn, how do you spell "crocodile?"
TEACHER: No, that's wrong
GLENN: Maybe it is wrong, but you asked me how I spell it.
TEACHER: Donald, what is the chemical formula for water?
TEACHER: What are you talking about?
DONALD: Yesterday you said it's H to O.
TEACHER: Winnie, name one important thing we have today that we didn't have ten years ago.

TEACHER: Glen, why do you always get so dirty?
GLEN: Well, I'm a lot closer to the ground than you are.
TEACHER: Millie, give me a sentence starting with "I."
MILLIE: I is..
TEACHER: No, Millie..... Always say, "I am."
MILLIE: All right... "I am the ninth letter of the alphabet."
TEACHER: George Washington not only chopped down his father's cherry tree, but also admitted it. Now, Louie, do you know why his father didn't punish him?
LOUIS: Because George still had the axe in his hand.
_________ _____________________________

TEACHER: Now, Simon, tell me frankly, do you say prayers before eating?
SIMON: No sir, I don't have to, my Mom is a good cook.

TEACHER: Clyde, your composition on "My Dog" is exactly the same as your brother's. Did you copy his?

CLYDE : No, sir. It's the same dog.

Wacky Wed...the House test

What the House Test Says About You

You consider yourself important, but no more important than anyone else. You love attention, but you don't feel like you deserve more of it than anyone else.

You can't stand community oriented people and annoying "buy local" campaigns. You prefer to live the best life possible, and that doesn't really involve many other people.

You are a social, friendly, and giving person. You like to bring people together and make them feel happy.

You take good care of your physical appearance. You dress well, stay in shape, and do your best to look great.

You are moved by romance and love. You are optimistic about people, and you love hearing about happy endings.

Happy Daddy Day!!

I have the bestest Dad a girl could ever ask for, he's always been there for me no matter what, making me feel like I was the center of his universe always (like he is the center of mine).....I love you Daddy!!

What is a Dad?

A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up,
brushes you off, and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail...
~By Susan Ceylise.~

My Dad

When I was just a tiny kid, Do you remember when, The time you kissed my bruises, Or cleaned by soiled chin?

You scrambled for the balls I hit, (Short-winded more than not,) Yet, every time we'd play a game, You praised the "outs" I caught.

It seems like only yesterday, You wiped away my tears, And late at night I called your name, To chase away my fears.

Though time has changed your handsome grip, Your hair is snowy white, Your gaits a little slower now, Thick glasses help your sight.

Oh, do I thirst for years gone by, To be that growing lad, Re-living all of the memories, Of growing with my dad.

Prescription Medicine warnings can be a crack up....

I recently had a prescription filled for back spasm type prob and read the insert on the prescription and it just cracked me said after listing all these side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, headaches, etc. "Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects" (are you kidding me, this language has to be in the insert given with my prescription??), or how about this one "if you desire quick relief, it may be better to use other medications that are faster acting than this medicine" (what??? definitely makes you have confidence you are gonna get what you need out of this one, doesn't it???) in honor of my crazy warnings on the insert, thought I would leave you with this YouTube classic, which is so right-on....

Happy Thursday!

Wacky Wed...double the fun

I am having some issues with my back, so I thought I would distract myself (and you guys) with two Wacky Wed quizzes.

The first: The Gemstone Test:

Your Gemstone Says...

You are stable, strong, and full of life. You are an inspiring person.

People turn to you first for leadership and advice.

You are able to gently help people get to where they need to be.

And while you aren't afraid to lead when necessary, you are never heartless or bossy.

and secondly, what American accent do you have:

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The West
The Northeast
The Inland North
North Central
The South

Meeting some friends and a new adoptive family....

This past Saturday I was fortunate enough to meet some friends up from south Fla. (Dawn, Jacob, Lily, and Rose) who were in Orlando celebrating Lily's 6th birthday (oh my goodness how she has grown up, she's so beautiful, time definitely flies...except when it comes to receiving our referral, hehe), so I met them for lunch with my mom and "Aunt Sue". Rose is just darling, and Lil is a great big sister, she even enjoys dressing like her little sister (so cute).

Another local family (Debbie, Brian, and Hannah) also came to meet us for lunch, and what a delightful family they are....Hannah is 3 years old, and so well behaved. We had a great time meeting them, and hope to continue to have get togethers with them (heck they live in the same town as us, so we have no excuses not to, hehe).

Here's some pictures:

I also wanted to thank Dawn, Jacob, Lily, and Rose for this adorable outfit for Chynna, she will be so warm in it and we will definitely think of Lil when we see Chynna wearing the Lil Star.....

Have a great Monday (isn't that an oxymoron?) !

Frogs, Frogs, and More.....

I am a little behind in my thank yous for some recently received frogs, and thought I better get off my behind and send my thanks (and share with you all the frogs received from friends).....

Freckles is quite disappointed in me:

so here goes:

thanks Doris, out of the blue she sent this frog for the refrigerator (along with some hair clips for Chynna), I love it all, and thank you for thinking of us (and apologize for being a horrible poster):

next when we were lucky enough to meet Cyndi and Dean, they too gave us some frogs, this one is amazing, it sticks in the ground soaking up the solar rays during the day, and at night it changes these amazing colors, it is right outside Chynna's room and I look out her window each night watching it change colors (funny enough I took this picture at night and here it looks like broad daylight hours, I promise it was really dark out when I took the picture):

they also gave me this really soft froggie (who rides along with me in my car along with a few others, I know I am obsessed, what can I say? I love frogs for some bizarre reason):

then I received this email from Sarah of Sarah's Collections, who so kindly custom made these Gator Orange and Blue Frog keychains, these are made by Chinese Knotting, Sarah is from Hong Kong, and does different kinds of keychains, hairbows, etc. Check out her site and support her in keeping this tradition alive (and if you order on or before June 30, you can save 10%, but you can't save if you don't buy), what excellent work and quick turnaround too, thank you Sarah, I am sure you and I will be doing business again!!

now this I may have posted before, this is Chynna's Frog Easter basket from my Mom, it cracks me up every time I go into Chynna's room because it is huge (probably will be much bigger than she is) and I just know that candy will be quite stale by the time Chynna gets home (guess Mommy will have to consume it before Chynna gets home and then refill it again, the duties Mommies have to do...hehe):

and my mom's friend aka "Aunt Sue" gave us these magnets from her daughter, which now adorn the fridge with the other frogs, ladybugs, Chynna magnets, I love em all:

also, a while back our good friends Don and Be, who are traveling to China to get their sweet Joanna Mei (leaving July 1) had given us this great king (or queen) frog for our sweet Chynna from Ikea, I hug it frequently, it is so soft and I love the fly embroidered on the red tongue, cracks me up:

and finally, you may notice my new frog signature on each of my entries of my blog, they are courtesy of Verna the Blog Fairy, she is helping Robin bring home Mia, Verna is running specials on blogs (from $5 signatures to $25 simple blog makeover, and much more) and 100% is going towards Robin, this is an amazing thing, to get the benefit of Verna's expertise, and to help a fellow adoptive parent, but this too runs til June 30, so act today and help Robin in any way you can.
