Update re Bib Swap (and contest give away)

Thank you all who have emailed me and showed an interest in the bib swap...

Now, for the details...guess I didn't think it all the way through...I was thinking it would be like a One Hundred Good Wishes Quilt type swap thingy (not realizing there were different ways)...anyway, we have quite a few interests (which excites me since now I know a few new people who were lurkers and are coming out for this...how cool)...

Anyway my good buddy Cyndi indicated that she does this with her Yahoo Group and they do it each month (or every other month) and have themes, and it appears they are secretly matched with someone...this seems like a cool idea....so the ideas are out there.....

Should we swap just one bib, or more...should we set a dollar limit....should we do a one time swapping with all participants (I believe at last interest count we were up to 10 including myself) or a one time swap with someone you are matched with or a monthly swap (changing each month who we swap with)...I'm up for the ideas...throw em out there, and the swap is still open for all those interested!!

Also Amy is conducting a contest, it's easy to do....visit her blog and let her know "If there was only one kind of ice cream in the world, what would you want it to be?" (you know the answer is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream right???!! hehe)....show Amy some love!!

In our LID group we get different people every month. We know who they are. The person in charge picks names and sends them out in the beginning of each month. We could do it like the 100 GWQ exchange. We just need to know a price limit and how many we should send to everyone. If you do it every month or other month you can do themes. I don't think it should be a secret exchange. If you would like help, just let me know. You said that there is 10 people signed up. That is great. Well, I hope this helps. I can't wait to start. You should also put a date to have them sent out buy. For example: we do a theme and get paired on the 5th of every month then the bibs should be out by the 15th of every month or something like that.

I think the bib swap is a great idea. Unfortunately, with four kids, I have a bazillion bibs already. :-)

Dannye, I hosted a bib swap on the Jan and Dec yahoo groups. This is how I did it.
1. Made a list of everyone interested
2. Set a dollar limit
3. Set a mailing date
4. Matched the swappers (the first person was matched with the second person the second with the third and so on)
5. Each person was asked to send at least one bib to the person they were matched with. Most sent 2 or 3 bibs...

we only swapped one month but, we added other swaps after that like onesie swap, hair accessory, Blanket etc....

It was lots of fun... good luck..

I like Susan's idea. A one time bib swap and then perhaps switch things up.

Keep smilin!
