Okay, so I had a wonderful time at Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights Employee Preview Thursday Night, and have been waiting for my brother to email me the pictures so I can post em, but no such luck yet...so once the pictures are emailed I can share them, but until then...guess I just gotta move on....
Then yesterday was the Orlando Home Show convention, and since we had never been before, we figured what the heck, let's go...so Ray, my mom, my sister and her friend, and I headed off to the Convention Center...there we got to see some "celebrities" (okay so they may not be so "celebrity" status that all of you will know them but we got excited)...
First there was the Astrix from the Bright House cable commercials....he is representative of the "other guys" thus is supposed to be a bad guy...so here is Katy and Carol being "scared"....they are too funny!!
Then there was little person Hewitt from the Hulett pest control commercial, he and his twin brother usually play bugs in the commercial
and then finally there was Lee from Appliance Direct, where if you paid retail "You Paid Too Much"...
we also got to see Tom Terry, our local weatherman...he is skinnier in person (guess tv does add 10 pounds)...but I didn't think to get a picture, darn my slow thinking hehe...
we got some really cool ideas for doing Chynna's closet, got some great freebies (pens, letter openers, tshirts, coolies, etc.)....and just plain had a great time...
This blog was set up to journal the wait for Chynna, who is from Jiangxi China (we were LID 7/14/06, and received our referral 8/29/11). I am so happy you are joining in this amazing journey.

A night to preview...
Tonite I am honored to be invited to preview with my brother, his girlfriend, her sister, and my husband Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios....I've been able to do this in the past with my brother, but tonite will be so cool since it is a large crowd!! Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street is one of the "guys" ("whatever you do, don't fall asleep), so I can't wait to do that haunted house....
And to top it off, the moon will be mostly full(scary stuff I tell ya, hehe)...

Wacky Wed, What Kind of Frog are You?
The Spring Peeper is only .75 - 1.5 inches long, but is has a very powerful high-pitched whistle with the occasional trill that can be heard over long distances. Peepers are abundant in wooded areas in or near flooded ponds and swamps. In these ponds, the Spring Peepers will form singing choral groups, making sounds that can almost sound like jingling sleigh bells from a distance.
Thanks "Aunt Sue" for this week's Wacky Wednesday quiz...

It is a frog cheering up party
Guess the frogs heard how blue I was feeling so they started gathering on my back porch (they know where they are loved)....
First one poked his head out of the ladybug sock...
then one wanted to rock on the rocking chair, guess he was thinking of playing some volleyball with my neighbor's ball..
a tiny one jumped on the kitchen window (he was hard to see, sorry he is hard to see, but he really is there....)
and finally they started to get bored, yawning and all, so they headed out for the night for some good bug catching and all...
thanks to all the frogs for cheering me up (oh and to my friends too!....)

Feeling the case of the blahs...
Okay as you probably noticed (from my lack of posts yesterday and then not posting til late today) I am starting to feel the blahs, the wondering when it will happen is starting to get to me....the good part though is that we know we are going to be parents (thanks to the good news of finally being out of review)...but when?? will it be 2-3 more years???
Then there is the nothing exciting is happening to report...I go to work, get home, watch whatever craziness on tv (not much on), read emails/blogs, and then start it all over again the next day...boring to report...I mean the most "exciting" thing is my hurt finger (which still looks really nasty BTW)...
So that is what is going on with me...maybe I'll take a nap (since it's raining and dreary out, maybe that's what's wrong with me...) and wake up with a more upbeat attitude (or maybe just maybe the CCAA website will be updated, and the speedup will have begun, hey a girl can dream right?? hehe)...

Sometimes even the smallest injuries hurt...
Okay, so a week ago today I injured my pinkie finger...how you ask?
Well I was closing a three-ring binder and apparently didn't realize my finger was in the way of one of the rings and it closed on it, cutting both sides of my fingernail....we of course I put neosporin on it and put a band-aid...
a few days later my finger really started hurting and getting all fat and just plain gross...finally on Wednesday I couldn't stand it, even if I barely bumped it a horrible pain would shoot from the tip of my finger, I so wanted to cry...
so off to my dr., resulting in a shot of an antibiotic, some really strong oral antibiotics, and advice to keep my pinkie up "so it could drain"...(oh yeah, it got infected, ewwww)...
yesterday on my way into work, driving with my pinkie in the air, other drivers thought I was being friendly and waving to them, so I got lots of waves (too funny)...
but then it started feeling really painful, and now my dr is unavailable so his office tells me to go to a walk-in clinic....
after 3 1/2 hours of waiting, finally my turn to go in...they x-ray my finger to make sure it's not broken (I assured them it wasn't but we did it "to make sure", and lo and behold, not broken....), they tell me they can't do anything ("just make sure you soak it in hot water as often as you can") but give me another antibiotic shot (this time in my rear, ouch!!, I now believe my rear end is bruised, besides my ego that is)...and send me back home...
guess I'll just have to continue waving until my gigantic finger goes back to normal...so if you see a short lady with glasses driving down the street with only her pinkie in the air, just give her a wave (at least she'll get a giggle or two out of this silliness....hehe).

Wacky Wed, How Spoiled are you?
Okay, this may be me, kinda, guess it depends on who you ask...
You Are 24% Spoiled |
You're barely spoiled. You may have some nice things, but you never let them go to your head. You appreciate each gift you're given - and you don't dwell on what you "deserve" to have. |

Ignorant people irritate me....
Yesterday hubby and I went to get our oil changed in our vehicles. When my car was done, it was parked in this really awkward position that made me nervous about backing out of, so I asked Ray to please turn it around so I could easily drive away, which Ray was happy to do for me....
However this male (sorry but that is the nicest word I can think of for him) makes this comment about how his kids who are about my age, took driver's ed and only drove with the teacher like an hour or two total, got this piece of paper they could take to the driver's license bureau and get their license, and how they are horrible driver's because of it....WTF??? I took such offense to this!!
Anyway, I won't be going there again....

Wacky Wed, How Happy are You?
You Are 56% Happy |
You're definitely a happy person, even though you have your down moments. You tend to get the most out of life, though there's always some more happiness to be squeezed. |

Did I dream it?
Somebody pinch me please....
I got up this morning (a little late), and had to check the CCAA website first to make sure it is real, there really was movement and we really are in the Matching Room finally...and it is real!! I am so very excited!!
I know we are still a long way away from seeing Chynna's face, but hey it's been so long to get to this point that I am just thrilled to get into another line, the last line til we see our daughter and learn all about her!!
Okay, I better calm myself back down, finished getting ready for work, and remember to stay patient....we still have a LONG wait ahead!!

WOO-HOO WE ARE OUT OF REVIEW!!
Words just can't express how Ray and I are feeling right now, such relief, such excitement, we are going to be parents, really really parents!! I can't stop smiling and giggling like a schoolgirl!! We can breathe easier now, we made the final step, now we are in that infamous Matching Room...for how long, I really don't know, but I do know this, there really is a light at the end of this really long tunnel, and in that beautiful light is our Chynna!!!
Baby Shower for Maggie (Sept 15)
My wonderful friend Red Mary Janes is hosting a baby shower for a very special little girl, Maggie who is the newest member of the Oatsvall family. Their blog is 'The Oatsvall Team'. Please take some time to visit their blog and read Maggie's story.
Maggie's head was badly burned while in foster care in China. Two mother's have volunteered to have their daughter's hair cut for Locks of Love to make a wig for Maggie. That is just one of the most beautiful gifts we have ever heard of. We don't know how many hair donations would be needed to make a wig, but if any of you Mom's would be willing, we think that would be incredible.
Please e-mail Red Mary Janes if you would like to have Gwen's wish list. Her e-mail address is timnkim@gmail.com, She is emailing it to people interested so Gwen doesn't receive duplicates of the same gifts. If you plan to purchase something from the Gwen's list, let Red Mary Janes know and she will remove your list item.
Gwen is also putting together a box of needed items to leave behind at Maggie's orphanage. Please keep the orphans in mind and feel free to include one of the items below or one of your choice to be sent to the orphanage and include it clearly labeled with your gift for Maggie.
blankets
socks
washcloths
If anyone would like to support the shower on their blog, it would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to add the sidebar graphic or do a post. Thank you so much~

Can we please be moved to this room??
I saw this picture on a fellow blogger's website (Debbie) and I couldn't help but to borrow the picture...she indicated that this is the infamous Matching Room....
Now I work in an office and we have lots of files, and I know how hard it is to keep those files in order and locate them quickly, etc., but I don't think we have as many as are in here, and look how organized they look....
Now if we can only move our file from the Review Room, where we are quietly awaiting to leave (don't want to be recognized in here, no questions please) so we can enter this Matching Room, the last room before we would finally see our Chynna's sweet face...
So for all those wondering how many people are "in line" in front of us....here's a picture of all those waiting in "front" of the line....

My trip to the Gyno....
Okay, I don't usually post these things, but today, although I was thoroughly embarrassed...I had to share...
I had my semi-annual visit to the Gyno today (my last pap had an abnormal reading so it's just a follow-up)...and I always worry I'll have gas, maybe a piece of toilet paper, you know the normal worries (don't act like you don't have these worries too hehe)...anyway, my feet get sweaty and I'm thinking I don't want doc to have to be close to stinky sweaty feet so I always wear socks (absorbs the wetness right??)...so here I am naked from the waist down, but for my socks, doc comes in with his nurse/assistant, I put my feet in the stir-ups...and they notice my cute socks...next thing I know the nurse/assistant calls the other staff members and then they are all in the room looking at my socks, what a position to be in and everyone is asking about your socks and laughing...what an embarrassing moment...and there's nothing weird about my socks...here you be the judge....

WHY REDNECKS CANNOT BE PARAMEDICS
Here's another funny (since you guys obviously didn't think the other post was funny)...so I guess take two....
Bubba and Moe are out in the woods hunting when suddenly
Moe grabs his chest and falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to
be breathing; his eyes are rolled back in his head.
Bubba whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the
operator, I think Moe is dead! What should I do?"
The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy
and follow my instructions. First, let's make sure he's dead."
There is a silence . and then a shot is heard.
Bubba's voice comes back on the line, "Okay... now what ?"
Here's another one in case you're not giggling yet:
Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night. 'I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed,' she explained. 'I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house'
'Don't worry,' Jack said. 'We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light.' The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.
Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.
But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend. He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, 'Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about 9 months ago?' 'Yes, I do' said Bob. 'Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?' 'Well, um, yes, 'Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out, 'I have to admit that I did.' 'And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?' Bob's face turned beet red and he said, 'Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did.' Why do you ask?'
'She just died and left me everything.' And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you…? Now keep that smile for the rest of the day.

Wacky Wed, How Good are you?
This is so not me, but whatever.....hehe.....
You Are 28% Good |
You try to do the right thing, but only when it works out in your favor anyway. You're not exactly evil or without ethics, but you could be going down a pretty dark path. You probably have good intentions. You've just gotten comfortable with acting the way you do. Knowing the difference between good and bad is half the battle. Acting like a good person is the hard part. You are also probably: A bit jaded and cynical about life's rules Right now you are on track to being: A petty criminal To be a better person: Help a friend in need, without being asked |
